Description adapted from NSF SBIR project abstract: With some 20-25% of coral reefs already destroyed and some 30+% on the brink of extinction, the ReefGen objective is to tackle this problem. The effort is to introduce a scalable method of planting heat-resistant corals to rejuvenate dying reefs utlilizing a multi-arm dexterous robot crawler - to be developed under this award - capable of planting many times faster than current equipment along with the various other support devices and activity that will be required to address task to hand.
