A woman-owned startup whose team has a successful record of developing innovative technologies for DoD, NASA, DOE, Homeland Security and commercial applications. RISLs primary R&D focii are sensors and instrumentation, remote sensing, nondestructive testing, chemical/biological sensing, and structural health monitoring. Through rigorous research and development (R&D), RISL has recently developed a new fiber optic sensing technology based on unique fiber optic protective coatings which enable common silica optical fibers to operate in a wide temperature range and improve durability. This break-through technology enables us to develop a series of fiber optic sensors such as temperature sensors, strain sensors, vibration sensors, and pressure sensors for harsh environment applications. RISL's current product portfolio includes (1) fully-integrated fiber Bragg grating (FBG) interrogating system with over 80 nm wavelength reading range, 1 pm wavelength readout resolution, and up to 5 kHz sampling rate, (2) miniature noncontact fiber optic vibration sensor with over 200 MHz bandwidth, (3) miniature noncontact shaft speed sensor, (4) miniature optical proximity sensor, and (5) fiber optic temperature/strain sensors etc. Upcoming products include three-axis fiber optic accelerometer and high-temperature fiber optic pressure sensors.
