QuantTera is focused to the development of functional cost effective nano-engineered photonic technologies for telecommunications and power efficient and energy generation applications delivering innovative designs for the formation of multifunctional integrated circuits encompassing both photonic and microelectronic technology. The firm specializes in a new class of quantum based device solutions for photonic telecommunications and energy applications, combining the advantages of nano-engineered materials and the integration of the materials into standard electronic circuit platforms. This approach gives ultra-high performance that light based technologies offers and the functionality of integrated circuit technology. This hard-to-explain technology could have important impact that almost everyone will recognize - extending the life of cell phone batteries, Qanttera's high-speed lasers and transistors are the type that send the cellphone signals to/from cell towers. This almost continuous process rapidly depletes the phone battery. QuantTera transistors use synthetic crystals that, by injecting extra nitrogen into the Gallium arsenide, are more efficient and more flexible: that flexibility is the key. The difficulties of taking highly sophisticated nano-materials are cost prohibitive. QuantTera is developing a total solutions package from design of materials and devices, the fabrication of those devices, the custom design of fabrication and testing equipment to deliver and guarantee performance of the devices. The intent is that these materials will form the core foundations of uniquely nano-engineered devices that will be merged to standard integrated circuit platforms. Using well understood materials these will be combined with other well known materials in unique combinations yielding high performance lasers and detectors. Nano-structured materials will be the basis of the technology from multilayer two dimensional structures to quantum dot technology. QuantTera Products 1) State of art LASERs for spaced based tele-communications. 2) Low voltage power amplifier for cellular communications 3) Quantum dot based high efficiency solar energy solutions. 4) Test instrumentation for highly sophisticated measurement of metrics for microelectronics
