WIth founders having a long time association to University of Pennsylvania and with the medical technology divisions of Siemens and GE, Quantitative Radiology Solutions (QRS) offers advanced body-wide quantification of medical images for applications in radiology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology. Quantitative Radiology Solutions is strucrured to enable physicians to make optimal treatment decisions through analysis of medical images. The firm's initial product - Automatic Anatomy Recognition (AAR) - supports recognition, delineation, and quantification of anatomical objects and diseased tissues in multiple body regions using CT, PET/CT, and MR images. When applied to the field of radiation therapy planning, AAR enables a robust standalone software solution that significantly improves the speed and accuracy of imaging contouring to support initial treatment planning and adaptive radiotherapy the AAR) system. The first application of AAR pursued by QRS was in radiation therapy planning to reduce the time needed for contouring of normal structures from 1.5 â 3 hours to under 5 minutes. Productivity improvements could be used to enable adaptive radiotherapy planning during a course of treatment to account for tumor shrinkage and patient weight loss, and improve patient outcomes and minimize side effects. Additionally, initial tests demonstrate that AAR for radiation therapy planning is more accurate and efficient in both anatomy recognition and delineation.
