Addressing the issue of water treatment through an environmentally friendly electrochemical technology platform, PowerTech Water is a cleantech company developing and commercializing technologies that converge water & energy. Currently, the firm has three product offerings for the residential, commercial, and industrial markets: (1) ElectraMet™, a chemical-free, sludge-free, cost effective system to remove heavy metals, chlorine/chloramine, VOCs, and biological contaminants; (2) INCION®, a membrane-free capacitive deionization system to remove total dissolved solids (TDS – Salts, Minerals, & Metals); and (3) Advanced electrodialysis reversal (EDR) electrodes to replace metal incumbents. With the firm's systems operating without the use of membranes, chemicals, or consumables, the approach developed provides significant advantage over the competition.
