Launched by a faculty member at University of Oregon, Perceptivo is structured around enabling early identification of hearing loss in infants. Part of the effort organizes around addressing the issue that babies can't tell you what is happening but involuntary of their eyes, they can signal teir experience. In effect, the investigators at Perceptive are using the eyes as a window to hearing - aiming for a sensitivity that might equal that achieved with traditional tone-and-response testing.
