From the premise that a large percentage of heart failure patients in advanced state condition have few treatment options - and that even the most effective currently available reatments - being highly invasive and involving long recovery time - are actually an option for only a small percentage of patients. Motivated by the desire to address this massive unmet patient need, PercAssist has developed percutaneous balloon catheters to improve left ventricular function and myocardial recovery. Defined as simple, safe, cost effective, placement of the PercAssist device is minimally invasive, non-surgical and performed in the catheterization lab. The patient has only an overnight stay and is ambulatory. The device is extravascular and does not require anticoagulant therapy. It is portable and discreet for the user.
