In December 2009, Optics 1 Inc was acquired by Swiss firm Vectronix AG and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of that firm. With facilities in CA and NH, OPTICS 1, Inc., had been organized around precision optical and opto-mechanical design, engineering, and production. optics design and optical developments, including visible, infrared and ultraviolet light, X-rays and microwaves. Growth permitted expansion via a second full-service office on the East Coast in addition to original West Coast office. Through the years, OPTICS 1 has expanded its capabilities to include precision, fully integrated electro-optical turnkey systems. The noteworthy achievement of the firm was the awardingof $38M contract by the Navy for the firm's development of thermal imaging systems to be used on night-vision goggles. OPTICS 1s technical staff is well versed in optical design, the foundation for ocustomers products. Cumulative optics background covers expertise in imaging and illumination design, fabrication with respect for real-world tolerances, design for manufacture, assembly, and test. Products are designed operating from X-ray, through ultraviolet and visible, to the far infrared portions of the spectrum. OPTICS 1 operates two geographically separate yet collaborative divisions to serve customers, each with a specific strategic market focus that together covers a wide range of markets and a plethora of products. Our Defense Systems Division (DSD), located in Manchester, New Hampshire, serves the defense/military and homeland security markets. DSDs customers include the various agencies comprising the Department of Defense, while DSD also serves other defense contractors in providing integrated subassemblies and systems. Our Commercial Systems Division (CSD), located in Westlake Village, California, serves the commercial market segments, a sampling of which includes industrial, metrology, consumer electronics, life sciences, and medical applications. CSD offers customers its traditional optical/opto-mechanical design services as well as integrated electro-optical assemblies and integrated systems. The firm recently announced release of three new products: Clip-on Navigation Display (COND), Handheld Thermal Imager (HTI) and the Wide Field of View Night Vision Goggle (WFVNVG).
