One Cell Systems, Inc. had been developing a family of assays based on micro-encapsulation and flow cytometry for rapid, quantitative analysis and recovery of cells, bacteria, nuclei and chromosomes. Licensed from MIT, the effort organized around gel microdrop technology used in performing cell secretion assays, cell growth assays and in-situ hybridization. Protected by numerous patents, One Cell provided single cell secretion assays for cell line development and monoclonal antibody production. Bacterial and fungal growth assays for drug susceptibility testing. Assays are available through research/commercial leases and screening service.
