Anchored in technology licensed from University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), for an extraction method and application for oleocanthal, an active compound of olive oil, Oleolive LLC is structured around investigation of the potential to treat a wide range of disease and ailments. ULM researchers have found the compound to have the potential to suppress human cancer cells and Alzheimers disease, and has anti-inflammatory applications to potentially treat a wide range of conditions. With ongoing research related to oleocanthal continuing at ULM, the first application of oleocanthal tackled by Oleolive, the SBIR startup may be in addressing skin ailments.
