Public Profile

OcuMetrics, Inc. to focus on the advancement of the Fluorotron Master, a fluorophotometer used to quantify fluorescence inside the human eye. While the device was originally intended to operate similar to fluorescein angiography, indicating the leakage of dye from the retina into the vitreous, the technology has evolved the device into one that is used in the lab. Fluorophotometry is able to provide a quantitative measurement of fluoresce concentration that is versatile enough to indicate subtle changes in the health of retinal blood vessels, retinal pigment epithelium, choroid and ciliary processes. OcuMetricsÂ’ has developed a stable of Fluorotron Master devices including a laboratory animal version (which can be used on rats and larger animals), a human version and a version that can be used on smaller animals, including mice, in the laboratory
