NutraMaize LLC is an AgBioScience seed-stage company coming out of Purdue and organized around the task of commercializing a better tasting, more nutritious variety of non-GMO corn. A deep orange color isdue to the high carotenoid content - carotenoid being a rich source of nutrients: anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and providing pro-vitamin A, the latter being commonly deficient in the human diet. NutraMaize is offering a line of milled products (Grits, Polenta, Corn Meal) sold under the brand Professor Torberts Orange Corn which pays homage to to firm's Co-Founder. NutraMaize is preparing its orange corn for large scale applications in the food ingredient and poultry feed markets (providing enhanced color to egg yolks). Further, compared to yellow corn, NutraMaize's orange corn has significantly higher levels of the carotenoids Lutein and Zeaxanthin both having a critical role in protecting eye health.
