NOVANA, Inc. achieved a level of recognition when an article appeared in INC Magazine andother sources in the Fall 2011 indicating the firm had developed aa far less exopensive product havign similar characteistics to Kevlar. Not at al clear what happened next. The firm had been identifes as focused to development of enabling technologies of making high-value added, functional, polymeric composites from renewable resources to serve automotive, building & construction, and military industries. The key research competences of Novana include creating innovative, functional, and marketable (1) polymer composite materials, (2) green materials, i.e. recycled polymers, biodegradable polymers, or industrial by-products, and (3) advanced materials with unique microcrystalline and microporous structures.
