Public Profile

NovaFlora Incwas founded to apply modern techniques in plant genetics to the development of consumer and environmental friendly ornamental flowering plants. The firm’s proprietary technology portfolio comprises genes that control many of the most important characteristics of ornamental plants, including those that control height, architecture and fragrance. In addition to developing new varieties in-house, the firm provides consulting and contract R&D services for breeders and growers; including advice on establishing in-house micro-propagation facilities, custom breeding and custom mutagenesis for the development of new varieties, as well as DNA genotyping, gene isolation and gene expression analysis. In 2012, NovaFlora merged with The Conard-Pyle Company to develop roses and other high value ornamental shrubs and perennials for Conard-Pyle's home gardening and landscape catalogue. Access to the extensive Conard-Pyle greenhouse and field-testing facilities has allowed NovaFlora to consolidate its office, laboratory and greenhouse operations to a single commercial site
