Public Profile

Nectome develops brain preservation and connectomics tools. Principals of the firms won the 2016 Small Mammal Brain Preservation Prize for their work preserving rabbit brains. That work led to Nectome being established as a neuroscience company organized around development of aldehyde-stabilized cryopreservation. Nectome aims to preserve the brain and keep all its memories intact: the next generation of tools to preserve the connectome. The connectome is all the connections called synapses between neurons in the brain. Researchers from the company is now learning to manipulate individual memories, building advanced brain prosthetics, and reverse-engineering the brain.
