A spin-off company of University of Pittsburgh, NanoLambda is developing Spectrum Sensor chip, Spectrometer-on-a-chip. Each pixel of the Spectrum Sensor chip detects a pre-defined wavelength light. This enables not only "mobile/wearable" health monitors such as non-invasive hemoglobin/glucose monitors, but also enables miniaturized sensor devices for simultaneous detection of multiple toxic gases /hazardous materials or color changing materials. Where ever and whenever you want to see wavelengths, or wavelength changes "at a compact scale", Spectrum Sensor could be a good solution.
