Described primarily as a Business Consulting Firm, The Management Analysis Network LLC has been several years in operation, For their Air Force SBIR-funded project they took the clever approach of identifying - apparantly correctly - a fairly serious in-house problem: lack of training for personnel in a strategically important space to AF: Critical Program Information (CPI) . Their proposal was to develop an automated toolkit for the identification of CPI and associated key words. A demonstrator of the toolkit would be delivered on CD-ROM along with a reference guide and training package providing users familiarization with the toolkit and guidance for executing each step in the process - potentially representing a significant cost savings to the agency while also actually mitigating the problem. Their $1,5M Phase II awardwas probably cheap at the price.
