The firm had previously held a minority position in the smaller firm. Amount paid not disclosed. In 2004, Amersham was itself acquired by General Electric (GE) and incorporated into the GE Healthcare. (Magnetic Imaging Technologies Inc MITI) develops hyperpolarization technology for improved visualization of lung function and other body organs. Hyperpolarization technology used in conjunction with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), enhances the ability to diagnose diseases of the lungs, and improves imaging of the brain and other organs. In addition, the company produces commercial quantities of hyperpolarized gases.
