Local Dirt was founded to source local produce; thereby streamlining local food sales and supporting the local food movement. The firm has developed the Local Dirt marketplace and its suite of sales management tools for farmers, distributors, and other sellers of local food. More recently, their work has focused on developing mobile technology to help consumers find local food through the popular Locavore app. In November 2013 LocalDirt was acquired by AgSquared withthe objective of bringing interoperability to agriculture
