Public Profile
Formerly known as LiveWire Test Labs, Inc., LiveWire Innovation Inc has developed cutting edge technology that detects and locates intermittent fault conditions in high noise environments (e.g. live electrical power circuits, various types of concrete/steel structures) in real time. LiveWire products and services reduce maintenance / troubleshooting / monitoring costs, increase system reliability, and can extend the useful life of systems and structures by providing accurate monitoring of system health environments. LiveWire's unique core technology is spread spectrum time domain reflectometry, or SSTDR. The technological foundation of cell phone communications, spread spectrum is used to transmit a small but nevertheless recognizable signal in a high noise environment. By combining spread spectrum with TDR technology, LiveWire has achieved a significant breakthrough in being able to monitor changes in live electrical circuits and also steel structure imbedded in concrete, in real time. Changes that occur for as brief a time period as one millisecond can be detected, characterized, and located (distance to fault) within an accuracy of +/- 2% over distances from a few inches to hundreds of meters. Typical environments where LiveWire's SSTDR Technology has proven value: * Intermittent faults on live electrical circuits in o Aging aircraft o Electrical power utility grids o Construction and mining equipment and vehicles o Transportation o Factory power systems o Commercial, industrial, residential power distribution systems o Arc fault detection and location o Security systems o Telecommunications networks * Concrete structures with imbedded tensioned steel cables o Dams o Bridges. Livewire's SSTDR technology is available to meet needs via:* Fault detection / location service * Portable fault detection/location devices * Integrated circuits ready for custom integration into your environment
