LifeWave is focused to development of innovative, non-invasive medical imaging devices based on Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) radar. LifeWaveâs patent pending âUWB medical radarâ, offers unique single and multi-dimensional imaging capabilities in a variety of displays and form factors. UWB employs extremely low power electromagnetic energy capable of single organ assessment and trending anatomically correct structural imaging. It is capable of passing through barriers like clothing, air and bone without requiring direct skin contact, conductive gels, electrodes, or leads. Further, the firm's technology currently provides cardiopulmonary data that is unavailable with existing ambulatory imaging technologies. As compared to ECG and ultrasound, UWB radar devices will be able to measure advanced physiological functions quickly, easily, and at a reduced cost. LifeWave devices are currently in independent pre-FDA clinical trials at a leading American University. These trials are intended to evaluate our devices ability to collect cardiac rate, rhythm, arrhythmia detection, cardiac output and stroke volume and pulmonary rate and rhythm data. Early results from these trials have positively correlated UWB with both ECG and catheter based assessments of cardiac rate and rhythm. Lifewave is developing non-invasive, real-time hand-held and remote wearable sensors capable of multidimensional through barrier imaging. Primary users will be emergency responders, healthcare providers and at risk individuals. Lifewave holds a license from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for medical applications of ultra low power
