Lzmbda Science Inc specializes in the theory and application of advanced sensors to include radar, sonar, EO/IR and hyperspectral covering applicable propagation and scattering phenomenology, advanced signal processing for information extraction, and a detailed understanding of associated new and emerging enabling hardware technologies. Expertise includes surveillance, tactical, instrumentation, HF over-the-horizon (OTH) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). Company personnel have expertise in acoustic sensors (e.g., underwater towed array systems), and electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensors (e.g., infrared search and track (IRST), multispectral systems, etc.). With theoretical and practical capabilities that include rigorous analytical performance prediction involving sensor and environment modeling, to custom experiment design and hands-on hardware performance evaluation, Lambda staff has experience in end-to-end system design and development, subsystem design and development, and advanced signal processing. End-to-end system design experience includes almost all types of military radar. Subsystem design includes conventional antennas and phased arrays, direct digital synthesis exciters and high power transmitters, low noise high dynamic range receivers, and transmit/receive (T/R) modules for phased array system architectures. Advanced signal processing techniques include low IF sampling digital I&Q filtering and channel equalization, large time-bandwidth product waveform design and associated processing, detection, tracking and fusion algorithm development, and the design and application of spectral estimation and time-frequency analysis techniques for the characterization of non-stationary processes. In addition, company personnel understand propagation and scattering phenomenology, with expertise in many applications that must mitigate and/or exploit this phenomenology.
