In December 2021 it was announced that Kestrel Labs, Inc. had been acquired - in a $31,000,000 transaction - by Zynex (NASDAQ:ZYXI) Kestrel medical technology company specializing in the manufacture and sale of non-invasive medical devices for pain management, rehabilitation, and patient monitoring. Kestrel had been a medical electronics company addressing the task of solving major challenges in the field of pulse oximetry. Bringing together decades of experience in the medical device industry - included one of original members of BIOX, the company that developed the first commercially-viable pulse oximeter - Kestrel also undertook contract research, design, and engineering services in the areas of: * Medical instrumentation, * Spectrophotometry and photoplethysmography, * Analog and digital hardware, * Embedded systems software, * Optical, mechanical, and opto-mechanical systems and * Injection molded parts.
