Kentucky Imaging Technologies LLC is a biotechnology company developing a new system designed to to conduct virtual colonoscopies (VC). VCs provide a less invasive and more comfortable option to a traditional colonoscopy. While VCs have been previously available, they have tended to be less thorough than a traditional colonoscopy and often miss certain types of polyps. Using this new technology - licensed from patents held by the University of Louisville - Kentucky Imaging has developed a new "fly-over" approach to conducting a VC that avoids the pitfalls of previous VC designs while still offering as-good or better coverage than traditional colonoscopies. The firm's Lung Cancer Screening - KIT EW1000 Chest CT reading unit - reads low dose CT scans and highlights nodules.
