ITN Energy Systems, Inc. is a technology incubator, R&D accelerator, and product development company with a major focus on commercialization of advanced materials and fabrication processes. ITN develops innovative technologies for the energy, space, and environmental industries. Core technology areas of focus include Lithium Technology, Fuel Cells, Nanotechnology, and Thin-Film Deposition Systems. ITN has established successful spinoffs, joint ventures, and/or licensing arrangements developed product lines and spun off four separate operating companies. Spun off in 1996, Global Solar Energy manufactures thin film photovoltaic arrays for space and terrestrial applications. In 1999, Infinite Power Solutions was established to manufacture thin film solid-state re-chargeable and thin-film micro-energy storage devices. Microsat Systems Inc. - now part of Sierra Nevada Space Systems, was established in 2002 and now offers high performance microsatellites and spacecraft subsystems including; space power systems, advanced miniaturized avionics and lightweight composite structures. In 2005, Ascent Solar spun off to work on leading-edge solar technology easily to integrate into a wide range of products and applications, opening up new frontiers for solar electric generation.
