In May 2005 Immunix Inc was acquired by Novell. Immunix Inc provides cost effective, high performance server software solutions enabling rapid deployment of a secure server without expensive system administration expertise. Immunix provides software appliances that are protected by its host intrusion protection security. The appliances allow organizations from small businesses to large enterprises to deploy a secured application in minutes, without requiring Linux system administration expertise. The company's Secure Server Manager interface allows users to perform server functions traditionally handled by more complex and expensive general-purpose servers, and gives users more control of their servers from anywhere on the Web Immunix created AppArmor, an easy-to-use Linux application security system. The new product, to be called Novell(R) AppArmor powered by Immunix(TM), protects both the Linux* operating system and applications from external or internal attacks, viruses, and malicious applications. As a result, businesses can protect key corporate data, reduce network administration costs, and comply with government regulations.
