Also known as Lead Check, Hybrivet manufactures test kits for heavy metals such as Lead , Mercury and Nickel in soil, wastewater, groundwater and paints. The firm's LeadCheck Swabs is a commercially available lead detection tool recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Its other detectors of contaminants and toxins include products for identifying the presence of hexavalent chromium ions, mercury, cadmium, nickel, copper and arsenic. In February 2011, the small firm was acquired by 3M opening up for 3M the commercial market for testing paints for lead.
