Public Profile

Eastablished by Vanderbilt University students - Nashville, TN - HeroWear LLC develops assistive clothing solutions to reduce musculoskeletal injuries and associated medical costs for individuals in manual labor careers such as package handling or manufacturing. Describing what they do as "Reinventing clothing" an "re-imagining exoskeletons", the emphasis is on offering suits that are designed to make lifting easier thereby reducing worker fatigue and injury risks on the job, without interfering with range of motion or daily tasks. The firm's HeroWear Apex is a back-assist exoskeleton blending comfort, ease-of-use, and accessibility for th e wearer. The textile-based exoskeleton design allows for the full range of motion: jumping, sitting, walking etc - all without the exosuit getting in the way. The Apex’s unique design provides strength when needed but is not in the way of the wearer when theydon’t.
