Hearing Ergonomics & Acoustics Resources (HEAR) provides testing and development of hearing devices. The firm has special expertise in NRR and REAT testing, Product Design and Evaluation, Custom Experimental Design such as Military Situation Awareness Tests, Expert Witness, and IP Analysis. HEAR LLC has a strong record of hearing-related device technology development, including receiving several U.S. utility patents for inventions that are applicable to the design of hearing protectors, earphones, hearing aids, and various "hearables." For instance, HEAR's patented technology for enhancing the comfort and stability of in-ear, custom-fit products, via innovative, low-durometer-device displacement of cartilage in the ear canal (U.S. Patent 7,822,219), has been licensed to a large manufacturer of premium custom-molded hearing protectors, Custom Protect Ear of British Columbia, Canada. Other technologies for controlling the contact pressure of ear inserts positioned within the ear, and for achieving various spectral profiles of attenuation for different applications (e.g., U.S. Patent 8,550,206), are being further development for use in ultra-comfortable earphone products.
