Health Esense is an early-stage digital health startup developing advanced sensor technologies to enable early disease diagnosis and monitoring. The firm has developed a prototype breathalyzer to monitor ammonia in human breath as it relates to advanced liver disease. During the Phase I program the firm worked with two collaborator institutions contributing to the project. The project has developed a 1st generation sensor exhibiting clinically relevant performance metrics with proved repeatability with a thermal spray technique. It demonstrated sensitivity to 100 ppb ammonia.
