Previously doing business as FBS Inc., GuidedWave is an ultrasonic guided wave technology transfer and product development company focused on technology transfer and product development efforts for NDE and SHM in pipeline, rail, aviation, power generation, manufacturing, civil infrastructure, and military products. The firm offers various training programs to provide a basic understanding of guided waves, data collection procedures, and basic data analysis for basic pipe configurations. GuidedWave has performed theoretical analysis, finite element modeling, transducer and system design, software design, and product development work for applications ranging from long-range guided wave propagation in pipelines to advanced guided wave focusing algorithms for plates to microdamage detection techniques in composites using nonlinear guided waves utilizating advanced hybrid analytical-FEM computational methods and wave mechanics modeling in “theoretically-driven” sensor design and software development. Slowly transitioning to more product development and private industry contracts management have created partnerships with many large and small companies. Early users of guided wave dispersion curves to solve practical problems, management have authored patents, four text books, and over 600 articles on ultrasonic NDE, wave mechanics, medical ultrasound, adhesive bonding, concrete inspection, pipe and tubing inspection, composite material inspection, ice detection, structural health monitoring, signal processing, and pattern recognition.
