Gordon Nelson & Associates is working on the development of new flexible FR polyurethane (PU) insulation foams through a non-toxic environmentally friendly composite approach. Foams have bound-in polymeric phosphonate FRs, with added synergists and smoke suppressants so that they will not leach FR. The product may have several potential applications including for NASA, industrial insulation, acoustic insulation, the maritime industry and various others.
