Global Aerospace was founded by former NASA engineers as a commercial research and development firm focused on global information infrastructure development, and the firm has since developed a variety of technologies for space and subsea exploration applications. Particular emphasis is on miniaturization of sensors and instrumentation to enable new capabilities. Special areas of emphasis are the development of global in-situ sensing, monitoring, and data dissemination. GAC has also been developing a rechargeable Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery performance and operation simulation tool. Also Global Aerospace is developing a patented technology for a lightweight, gravity-deployed and stabilized modular solar array that has a variety of potential power generation applications including stratospheric balloons, space tether systems and commercial, industrial or residential power systems. The firm maintains facilities used to conduct task engineering work, assembly, integration, and the testing of hardware as it is prepared for flight.
