Space surveillance sensor supplier GEOST, Inc. specializes in active and passive optical remote sensing and provides expertise in all phases of project development for electro-optics and sensors. The firm focuses its efforts in two main areas: 1) Architect EO Sensors and Systems; and 2) Rapid Hardware and EO System Prototyping. In the area of Architect EO Sensors and Systems, data from sensors has grown to the point that human observers and analysts cannot look at all the data available. Making computers “see and understand” is a key requirement of all future EO sensors. Key algorithms for automatic or computer aided detection, classification, and identification of targets and other objects are an inherent part of nearly all sensor projects, and extraction of object features allows computers to begin the process of interpretation. GEOST is actively involved in these algorithms for implementation in real-time 2D and 3D Imaging systems. In August 2021 it was announced that Space surveillance sensor supplier Geost had been acquired by private equity firm - ATL Partners. It was also indicated that ATL Partners intends to build up its national security space portfolio and to make additional acquisitions in this sector. Given that the acquirer is not alarger entoty, it seems likely that GEOST could remain SBIR involved
