Fiber Dynamics, Inc. is involved in development of fiber-optic sensing systems in industrial measurement and control. The firm's lead product is the FFPI sensor - the fiber optic version of the conventional Fabry-Perot interferometer. Fiber Dynamics, Inc. licensed nine US patents from Texas A&M University to commercialize the FFPI sensors and associated signal processing schemes. The FFPI sensor is suited for a wide range of applications and industries, including use in monitoring in-cylinder combustion pressure, cavitation and flow instability, bearing condition, dynamic strain and vibration, non-contact proximity, and temperature.
