FTG metal-cladding composite particles with enhanced properties are created through our patent-protected water-based metal plating process, which allows us to coat particles 10-20 times faster than other techniques and to apply consistent, high-quality metal coatings to a wide range of particulate materials. Coverage of each particle is uniform and complete. Applications for our metal-coated particles include thermal management/spray; EMI & RFI shielding; rapid laser forming; cutting tools; green bullet; shape charge/penetrator; metal-matrix composites; and other specialty uses. LBS technology consists of an internal triangle mesh that acts as an interlocking truss system. As mentioned above, this matrix of triangles is strong and significantly lighter than many alternative structures. LBS offers weight reduction of up to 90 percent over monolith structures of the same material, and greatly enhanced shear strength compared to honeycomb structures. LBS products can be engineered for desired mechanical performance levels and are indicated for a wide variety of applications ranging from aerospace and automobile components to furniture and sporting goods
