Factory Physics conducts practical, research and development into manufacturing management laying out in systematic fashion an analytical framework for describing the "natural laws" of manufacturing systems,
akin to the basic laws of physics. Called "factory physics" they draw upon the underlying natural laws of physics to formulate solutions in their problem domains, manufacturing professionals can draw upon factory physics to form solid foundations for performance improvement in manufacturing systems. Factory Physics allows the manager to create applications that are uniquely suited for a particular manufacturing
environment. While details will change and developments will naturally continue to evolve, the fundamental insight behind factory physics--that there are principles governing the behavior of manufacturing systems, and understanding them can improve management practice--will remain the same.
