Ethos Research & Development is Organzied around investigation of the neurobiological processes drive development and worsening of chronic pain disorders, the effort of Ethos Resrahc and Development LLC is to identify and validate novel pain biomarkers that would enable/allow healthcare providers to diagnose and treat patients based on underlying pathophysiological mechanisms rather than symptomology. Mechanistic biomarkers of pain will not only improve understanding of pain biochemistry - allowing for truly personalized treatment strategies - but could also pave the way for the development of novel, non-opioid pain drugs. Ethos has already developed and made available "The Functional Biomarkers of Pain test panel" - anovel, pain-specific biomarker test panel evaluating urinary markers of cytokine mediated inflammation, oxidative stress, micronutrient status and neurotransmitter turnover, all known to play a role in development and/or worsening of chronic pain disorders.
