ESal, LLC is developing a capability designed to enable improved yields from new, existing or old oil fields. Worldwide, an important percentage of the oil in existing fields is left in situ it beng too difficult and/or to expensive to extract. By designing the salinity of injected waters, technologyeveloped by ESAL can change wettability and mobilize oil in a wide range of reservoir conditions. ESAL carefully designs water chemistry to avoid formation damage, while using the interaction between injected water, oil and the reservoir minerals to create the most favorable conditions for increased oil mobility. The firm's patent-pending process can increase oil production for many fields up to 20% with minimal investment compared to the cost of drilling more wells or more expensive EOR methodologies.
