Engine Research Associates Inc developed and manufactures the Erickson Migrating Combustion Chamber (MCC) Engine. The Erickson MCC engine offers high torque and efficiency with low emissions and vibration, without the need for a muffler or spark arrestor. The MCC Full Expansion engine technology is different than two-stroke, four-stroke, and rotary (Wankel) engine technology. MCC engines have the potential to improve fuel efficiency by 25% or more over current conventional engines due to full expansion. The current product line includes the FE-120 and FE-200 model hobby engines. Erickson MCC Engine technology is currently being used for hobby aircraft but is ready for commercial development in applications such as grass trimmers, lawn mowers and tractors, generators, motorcycles, marine, full size aircraft and automotive hybrid vehicles.
