With close ties to the longtime SBIR-involved Cape Cod Research, ePaint Company is structured around development and sale of environmentally friendly coatings. The primary thrust of the firm are specialty coatings for biofouling control. Initially developing antifouling coatings with US Navy funding in 1985. since then the company has been awarded numerous contracts to research novel methods of bio-fouling control, de-icing, and corrosion protection coating technologies. ePaint has developed specialty coatings for the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, the U.S Geological Survey, and private sector industries. ePaint was the first company to have an antifouling coating registered with the U.S. EPA free of copper and tin-based pesticides with several of the firm's antifouling products registered with the U.S. EPA and various State environmental regulatory bodies. ePaint also offers a new class of bottom paints called non-toxic foul release coatings that do not contain biocides.
