EMC2 began when two University of South Carolina grads were cleaning up a secondhand 17-foot day boat. The paint on the boat was peeling, dirty, and chalky, and the craft needed some serious TLC to get back in the water. The duo wasnt satisfied with their available paint options, and Martin, already familiar with current aerospace coatings, started tinkering in his garage to combine the aerospace technology with marine paint.
