Following something of a bidding war between St Judes and Medtronics, in December 1993, Electromedics, Inc. was acquired by Medtronic Inc and fully integrated into Medtronic Perfusion System. The smaller firm had been working on blood management and conservation equipment and disposable devices for use in medium and high-blood loss surgeries. The Company also manufactured temperature monitors and disposable probes to monitor skin, organ and muscle temperature. Electromedics Inc. had become a public company in 1974 through an initial public offering. Electromedics continued to grow into a company with diversified products in the medical, industrial and consumer products, reaching over $34 million in sales and 350 employees before the company was sold
