eGen, LLC developed a low-head hydro energy generator - an innovative power generation system utilizing microfin technology instead of traditional turbine blades, resulting in harvests of more than three times the energy of competitive solutions of equal size based power generation systems. This technology enables harvesting energy from flowing waters, such as rivers and streams; constructed waterways including aqueducts, water supply, effluent streams, and irrigation canals; and tidal currents. The company offered a systemic solution that includes various components necessary to transform currents into energy, including inverters, battery storage systems, and grid connectors. Its products are used by individuals, corporations, communities, and municipalities. The system can be modified to produce hydrogen from water and then convert the hydrogen into electrical energy. NB: Not to be confused with firm of same name that is a biotech out of Alabama acquired by Celsion in 2014, principals of the firm seem to have moved on.
