Developed by the firm EaseAlert inc, the system is a patented alerting method tp equip firefighters with a tactile pre-alert via wrist-bands when a call comes into the fire station. Designed and intended to reduce stress and improve efficiency for first responders, the EaseAlert - pre-alert - mitigates the startle response that occurs with existing fire alarms and preparing firefighters for the alarm to sound before it happens. Expectation is that the stress-reducing technology of EaseAlert has the potential to reduce occurrences of the leading cause of line of duty death for firefighters: cardiovascular disease.
