Diagnostics for the Real World (DRW) Limited is focused on the development of inexpensive, simple and high-performance tests for the simultaneous detection of hepatitis B virus (HBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV). The emphasis is on projects which can be used in resource-limited settings. These tests will be particularly applicable to clinical settings in which a rapid and immediate test result is crucial. The company is working to make available technology developed in the Diagnostic Development Unit of Cambridge University. These signal amplification technologies offer rapid and reliable tests for Chlamydia, Hepatitis and HIV. DRW is currently focused on providing rapid Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) as well as Viral Load (VL) measurement for those living with HIV, thereby enabling test-and-treat facility in even the most challenging and resource-limited environments.
