Public Profile

Spun out from research done at the University of Hawaii, microbial disease testing in the food industry provides a mobile, gene-based (molecular) diagnostics for the detection of select agricultural agents. The company has developed the Smart-DART™ platform that fits in the palm of the hand and weighs less than a pound, making it perfectly suited for in-field detection and diagnostics. Many standard DNA technologies need large, expensive equipment that requires three temperature changes in the chemical. Diagenetix technology doesn’t require temperature changes for reactions to occur, allowing the machine to be built quicker and cheap
