Dairilean has developed and patented a process to extract calcium, minerals and vitamins from milk to produce a carbonated soft drink product. Studies by medical schools show that calcium contained in the product, marketed under the label M.O.O.M., is 25% more absorbable than calcium in milk or calcium-fortified orange juice. An acronym for "made out of milk," M.O.O.M. was designed to help traditional soda drinkers--basically kids--consume more calcium and other milk nutrients. The firm owns three patents that cover processes for fractionating milk into various components and using the fractions in an array of products. The product is marketed by Espree Inc out of South Dakota.
