Correlated Magnetics Research LLC is involved in the research and development of correlated magnetic structures to replace conventional magnets in existing magnet-to-metal and other existing applications. Correlated Magnetics Researchâs patented process technology transforms ordinary magnets into precision-tailored magnetic systems called Polymagnets®. Unlike conventional magnets that have just one north and one south pole, Polymagnets have a pattern of many magnetic regions. CMRâs Polymagnet technology contains smaller magnetic elements that can produce superior attachment forces; safer magnets; precision alignment; shear and torque stiffness; and complex, multi-level/multi-force functions never before achieved with traditional bulk magnets. Each Polymagnet comprises a number of pixel-like elements called maxels, the arrangement of which creates a unique magnetic circuit that defines the function of the Polymagnet device and its interaction with other magnets and ferrous metals. Polymagnets can be programmed to have unique identities, to exhibit multiple forces simultaneously, and to provide significant improvements in magnet performance over conventional magnets. In addition, Correlated Magnetics Research has developed an integrated magnetizing system to support development and manufacture of Polymagnets from any magnetizable material. The system is capable of producing hundreds of maxels per minute, and enables the creation of patterned mulitpole magnetic structures that function as no ordinary magnet can. The MagPrinter is designed to print maxels on the surface of any permanent magnet material from rare-earth based materials to ceramics, and even flexible materials. Correlated Magnetics Research LLC licenses its technology to various markets, including toys, appliances, furniture, and prosthet
