Blueshift, LLC is an engineering research firm structured around space resource extraction and utilization with particular focus on developing the technologies necessary to extract water and other valuable resources from the lunar surface, using local resources to make tools, equipment, and structures without needing to launch these materials from Earth. Technologies under development include a mobile solar concentrator for producing very high, controlled temperatures (2,000+ C) and software to simulate soil-wheel interactions at the lunar poles. Additional testing is being performed to enble 3D printing on the Moon and extracting oxygen from extraterrestrial soils. The Blueshift approach is to have parallel work ongoing for lunar application with commercial applications on Earth to address the needs of remote and/or underserved communities.
